While Arlen University's intercollegiate athletic teams have not proven successful in the classroom, the excel on the playing field. The Tornadoes have, within the past two years, won conference championships in hunting, and skeet shooting.
AU competes as a member of the Big Range Conference. Men compete in football, baseball, basketball, hunting, car racing, and various shooting sports. Women compete in volleyball, softball, basketball, hunting, car racing, and various shooting sports.
The athletic programs are open to all students regardless of academic standing and criminal records. | |

Arlen Univ. Facts
The Arlen Univ. Athletic Department is a totally self-sufficient auxiliary of the University. No state tax dollars are used to finance Arlen Univ. athletics. All money spent by the Athletic Department is generated by the department through ticket sales, corporate sponsorships, radio and television revenue, the Gift Center and concessions, and is supplemented through revenue-sharing resulting from Arlen Univ.'s membership in the Conference.
